Qismat Niazi (she/her/hers) is a pre-medical student and published author in the Journal of Neuroscience, hailing from Dallas, Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from the University of Miami.
Her background as a first-generation Afghan American led her to co-found Hira Charity Foundation, a nonprofit that aims to build solar panels and water wells in underserved villages in Afghanistan. She has also worked with other nonprofits including ICNA Relief as a case worker for incoming refugees in the Dallas area, ICNA Relief free medical clinic, and Children Without Borders, based in Ontario, CA.
As a board member, she hopes to use her extensive experience in educational career/skill building and mentorship to help minority women gain a foundational footing in the pathway of their choosing.
